Wednesday sunset at the beach.

Noel had work really close to the beach so
we took the opportunity to go see the sun set.
It was absolutely gorgeous. The kids had a
blast and slept the whole way home. It was
a nice break from our usual schedule and I
can't wait until the next trip to the beach.

Did you know they had intercom systems in 1914?
I didn't. Noel and I went to Pittock Mansion today
for a tour. It was built in 1914 by the founder of
the Oregon newspaper. It was really neat to see
how they lived and realize I would hate to live in a
mansion, it was kind of creepy.

1. Zoe is really silly. I took about 50 pictures
of her and got about 3 without her tongue out.

2. Zoe is doing really good in school. She is learning
really fast and her penmanship is fantastic.

3. At some point the kids got a hold of my camera
and had some fun.

4. School can be really tiring.

5.I caught E reading in the car. He is about to finish
his first chapter book. He is loving school and is getting
big. He must be going through a growth spurt.

We have been going to the pool everyday to keep cool and I finally remembered to bring the camera yesterday. The kids are getting braver by the day and very good at moving around in the water. I think they will be swimming on there own soon. Ethan can hold his breath for 7 seconds under the water. He is so proud of himself. He even does the breast stroke while in a floaty ring. Zoe will stand on her own and loves pushing off the walls to swim fast.

We had a blast at Sauvie Island today after Ethan's baseball game. It is alot like the beach but closer to us. The kids played in the water for hours. Zoe got in to deep once and had to be rescued by Daddy. We were way more freaked out than she was but all ended well. The bonus was no one got sunburns. It was around 80 degrees today and should be hotter tomorrow, wonder what we should do...

I woke up this morning to my Zoe saying, "happy Mudders Day mommy." She is so lovey and giving for a five year old. She drew me some fabulous pictures as well. We had a really mellow day, it was really nice.

Towards the end of the day we had a sibling rivalry first. We went for a drive and the kids were playing the 'Im not touching you' game. I remember playing this game myself. Now I have a new found respect for my mother. I love you Mom! Happy Mothers Day!

We fed the ducks today. There were a ton of them.
Crissy wanted to get them really bad.

Every once in a while Zoe or Ethan get the
treat of sitting up front in the van. Today was
one of those days.

Zoe is growing so fast. I have to remind myself that she is 5 now. She loves the swings at the park. Like me as a child she could swing for hours. She is a little hippie child to. Life is getting back to normal finally so I will be posting more frequently now. So here are a couple things that you missed. We now have no more puppies. We tried to keep one but it proved to be quite difficult in a small apartment so she now has a new home. Here is the last pic I took of her.

We have been going to the gym daily and it feels really good to be exercising.

Zoe had an awesome 5th birthday. She is a real talker these days.
We drove up to Seattle and saw my sister Holly. The kids had a blast with her and talk about our day with her often. We love you Aunt Holly.

Noel and I love to watch all the pups pile up on each other and sleep. They are being alot more social and starting to open their eyes. We had to buy a dog exercise pen to hold them all. They are to big for the crate now and getting very mobile. They love when you scratch their tummy's and hold them, so we try to do it as often as we can.

Crissy had her puppies last night. She did such a good job. Noel had to sit with her next to her box or else she would get out and come up on the bed, but other than that she did fine. Nine puppies in all. Everyone is fine. There are five brown puppies and four that are white with brown marks. There are so adorable. I know that there are two girls and a boy but she is still really concerned with anyone touching them so I haven't checked any of the other ones yet. She has not wanted to leave them at all, not even to go potty. What a good mom. I will have more pictures in the coming days. I want to let everyone rest without flashes from the camera so I only took a few pictures so far.

We went for a walk at a new park today. It was alot of fun. Crissy is really loving going for car rides these days. She is almost always on my lap with snout out the window. Pregnant Dog

So I know I posted before about the dog being pregnant. Well it turns out we are expecting puppies any day now. You can actually feel the puppies moving inside her rapidly growing belly. I have been trying to get pictures of her laying on the floor for days but every time I moved to get the camera she would jump up to follow me. She was so pooped out today she finally slept though me moving. Ethan heard me talking about the dog to someone on the phone and he blurted out, "Crissy is a single mom." We laughed forever. He is so observant and smart. Yes my dog will be a single mom. We got her birthing box ready and she seems very comfortable in it. I can't wait until the puppies come so I can stop worrying and snuggle some little guys.

Ethan has been very interested in cooking lately. He made our pumpkin pie today for thanksgiving and he helped make the mashed potatoes as well. Even though he is only 5 he is very good at using knives and is learning to use the oven as well, of course he is always supervised. Zoe helped wash dishes and peel potatoes to. Such responsible kids they are growing up to be.

Ok, so we are 90% sure that our dog is pregnant. If we are right we should have puppies in about 3 weeks. Just like people dogs have an increase in appetite when they are expecting. I had a baggy with dry cereal that was practically empty (2 pieces of cereal left) that she just had to clean out for me. She is so funny.

We had the absolute pleasure of watching our great niece on Saturday. She is so cute and smart. I love getting to hang out and play with her. She laughs all the time and there is no way I can be in a bad mood with that happening. While she was eating breakfast I got the camera out, she kept peeking at me through the back of the dining room chair. The kids rarely take baths anymore, they are so independent they like to shower all by themselves. Tonight they wanted a bubble bath so I took the opportunity to take some bath time pictures. I love my kids so much and they are growing into very smart and sensitive people. I know that I just posted some sleeping pictures but Zoe was so cute napping the other day that I had to take another one. The kids had a really good Halloween this year. We went to a parade at Toys R Us and then hurried home to carve pumpkins. Ethan was not interested in pulling the guts out but Zoe was all over it. Then it was off to trick or treat. Between the two of them they got a huge bag of candy in an hour and a half of trick or treating. The hat pictures of Zoe are from the other day when Ethan was at school and Zoe and I had a mini photo shoot. So cute. Hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween.

Ethan had his first basketball practice today. He is playing on a team for the YMCA. He was so good. There is no coach for his team yet so all the parents pitched in and had a great practice. Ethan is growing so fast that I forget he doesn't know how to do everything yet. He is smarter than most kids his age and I assume he knows how to do stuff like buttoning his shirt. Well he didn't know how yet so I showed him once and of course he is already a pro. The pictures I got of him buttoning his shirt for the first time make me laugh. He had missed a hole somewhere and was trying to fix it. So cute. The last picture was seconds before he pronounced his famous Ta-Da.

We have been working so many hours lately that we haven't been able to really enjoy the summer like we wanted to. The kids have been so good we decided to have a play day today. I kept the camera with me all day today. I like alot of the pictures that I got throughout the day. Most of the ones of Zoe and Noel are from when we were waiting for Ethan's bus at the bus stop.
